The CAGED System Explained
Welcome to the Guitar Theory Simplified series! In this blog, we break down the CAGED system, a must-know framework for any guitarist. The CAGED system allows you to visualize chord shapes, scales, and arpeggios all over the neck, making it easier to play in any key and master fretboard navigation.
What Is the CAGED System?
The CAGED system refers to five basic chord shapes (C, A, G, E, D) that can be moved up and down the neck. We’ll explain how each shape relates to major and minor chords, and how to use the system to link scales and arpeggios together.
